HELP! - temperature sensor

Heat gauge on instrument panel stuck on 140 degrees whether engine running or batteries shut off at dock.  Exploration shows that gauge works if electric connecting wire taken off sensor and grounded on engine.  I have taken the sensor element out and it apppears corroded and conductive even when cold.

Where quickly find new sensor, please???

Not to sure but I think any auto parts store could get you one I do not think they are special in any way! If anyone else can counter please chime in here.
