I have a Westerbek 50 in my Pearson Pilothouse 36. The injection pump is starting to leak from the gear end of the pump; only a few drops but it needs to be rebuilt with new seals, etc. The Pearson book says that it is a CAV injection pump, but does anyone know what pump, since the boat is in Mexico now, and I am in California for the summer months. ( Way too hot in Mexico during the summer) Its a four cylinder diesel engine, but the local Westerbek dealer, says Westerbek refers any information to CAV Can anyone help, jim N

Hi Jim,   I will see if I can find a label on mine. FYI the Westerbeke 50 is a British Leyland 1.8 or 1800. Search BMC 1.8 Diesel. By the way it is based on the gas version which was in MG's so some of those seals and gaskets fit.
I have found parts for those to be more reasonably priced than Westerbeke.
I have been collecting information on the Pilothouses out there and hope you will post some pictures.

Update: What I can see of my label which is partly painted over and obstructed by a switch; DPA# 3342F710
Mod#562WW  Serial #? 5/3240

Thanks Bob, apparently Massey Fergussion tractors use a CAV injection pump, so I am thinking it may be the same pump. I have tried to email Westerbeke and they tell me nothing. I am sure there is someone somewhere who has this same problem and knows which CAV injection pump is on the Westerbeke 50. I will keep looking and thanks. jim

THANKS BOB ON DEO VOLENTE; Westerbeke was able to tell me that the CAV is likely DPA3342F710 or F711. I will keep looking for a seal kit, jim aka TOOTHPICK,  Pearson Pilothouse 365

THANKS P69

Was able to call one of your references, and they are sending the seal kit to me. Its wonderful to have people in the loop on the Pearson site. Thanks again.jim
