LED lights

We are thinking of replacing the spreader lights on Polaris with LED lights. The two we are looking at are the Dr LED Kevin Jr or the Lunasea. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or another recommendation? I'm leaning towards the Kevin mainly because Dr LED actually talks about the testing they've done for electromagnetic interference and seem to be aware of issues like power surges, which Lunasea doesn't really address. But it also sounds like a lot of people have interference issues when they install LED lights.

We are also thinking of replacing the anchor light in our Aquasignal series 40 with a DR LED bulb. Some debate about replacing the tricolor light with an LED tricolor, but we don't think well be using the tricolor a lot in Alaska in the summer.

I just bought a pair of Scandvik spreader lights, model 41342, from Defender. They are pretty small, light, and look good. Can't tell you about performance but the whole unit is sealed. Lucky I have the mast down and the spreaders off. I don't know how I would attach them otherwise, unless I replaced the bolt with a screw.

I bought 3 led lights from some dude in China through Ebay. $9 each. Super bright yet nice soft light. Makes my deck look like daylight.

Spun aluminum housing 3" diameter. Clear anodized finish. Very clean look. Single large LED die. They are designed as underwater lights for aquariums. They draw 350 ma at 12 VDC. Switching power supply inside. Mounted 2 on the main spreaders. One pointing forward the other aft and one on the mizzen pointing forward.

By Saturday, we should have new Dr.LED Kevin Junior spreader lights installed and a new Dr. LED tricolor and anchoring light. 

However, it won't really be dark for a few months, except really late at night.  We can probably provide a report at least on the interference thing.  If the rigging project goes until midnight, it might even be dark.   (End of civil twilight is 11:54 PM tonight)
