SailingSeaDragon

After over 2 1/2 years on the hard Sea Dragon launched on Tuesday.... Yesterday I went to the boat changed out the batteries, hit the preheat button for 30 seconds, and pressed the start button --- after 1/2 dozen revolutions the big red beast sprang to life.... You gotta love the dependability of these old engines.

I do love these old engines...another tale.

When I got my Ketch 8 months ago, it had been on the hard for 7 years, neglected, never cranked.
Put it in the water...did not sink, replace the starter and changed the oil.......Less than 10 seconds of start up and varoom......sounds as good as a sewing maching.  Like you favorite puppy dog sitting on your lap and just panting....

Unbelivable.

INCOMMUNICADO

Old technology low RPMs.If only they didn't leak oil. ( oil drip pan and catch container) I will keep my old 4-108. Allen

There are a number of products on the market.  Everyone seems to have a favorite.  The new low sulfur diesel does not have enough sulfur to properly lubricate our older engines.  And maybe not even the newer ones depending on who you ask.  Anyway, I use Sentry Plus for diesels but there are probably lots of products that are just as good.
