Anyone fly one?  What size is it?  How do you rig it?

In my search for interesting things to do with a ketch, I've been exploring some sail options.

Ideas?  Suggestions?

The I dimension on the mizzen is approx. 24ft.  This would warrent a chute with a Stay dimension of around 22 to 24ft.  I carry one of our spare kites from our J-22 which has a Stay dimension of 24ft, however the J is a 7/8ths fractional rig.  We have it aboard but have never taken the opportunity to launch it.  We do fly the mizzen staysail often.  I have a short spinnaker pole from another boat, (approx 7ft) but I think that would be a bit short for a mizzen set.  I also do not have a pole attachment eye on the mizzen but thinking while typing, a spinnaker eye on the mizzen would make an excellent halyard holder and a real tall step up. The guy could run to the back of the main rail track and the stubby angle would act like a tweeker and eliminate the need for a pole downhaul.  The sheet could run to the end of the mizzen boom just like the staysail setup.  I do not think a topping lift would be required except for the initial set.  Gybing would be a real treat with the split main backstay.  Dousing and reset would be the way to go at the gybe mark.

I too have a desire to try a mizzen chute.  Maybe this summer we will give it a try. Thanks for the prompt.

I too would be interested in knowing the rigging and the dimensions for a mizzen chute or stay sail. I only have one halyard on the mizzen and no connect points for the foot of the sail. How do it work???
