Engine access for service - Beta 35 vs Perkins 4108

Hi,
I'm looking to repower my boat and I am trying to decide if I am going to get a rebuilt Perkins 4.108 or a Beta 35.  Obviously, the Beta 35 is more expensive, but it is new.  I noticed most of the things on the Beta are located 'forward' of the engine, with the exhaust coming out the 'aft' side of the engine.  I am wondering if engine access is even more difficult on the Beta 35 than the P4108. 

I imagine a lot of P365 owners went from the P4108/W40 to the Beta, and I would love to hear more about your experiences.
