Propeller shaft to v-drive coupling

I recently sheared off the three bolts that connect the propeller shaft to the v-drive.  Apparently they had loosened up and subsequently sheared off.  Walter Machine was contacted about these bolts loosening up and they informed me that special bolts, 10-25B, are used at this coupling that have a special shoulder, thread sizing and a nylon patch. I was unaware of this and had regular hardened bolts in the coupling.
