Has anyone replaced their oil pressure gauge?

If so which gauge did you use and were there any issues fitting it?

At one point, I replaced my instrument panel with one I fabricated.  I added a vacuum gauge, thinking that I would someone plumb it to the fuel system to monitor the state of the Racor filter.

I found that the original gauges were made by a standard auto gauge company.  I am not at the boat and can't remember which one right now, but the manufacturer is on the face of the gauge.  I found a matching vacuum gauge in the same style.  The only slight problem was that the backlighting was white instead of the green of the other gauges.

Are you sure it is the gauge and not the sender unit?  The sender has failed on my boat before and required replacement.

I pulled out my panel in preparation for painting the topsides and it is totally corroded - every gauge seems to have stray current damage. I have ordered a new Admiral unit from Torreson Marine, which I am definitely relocating from the cockpit footwell to the coaming. $520 for the entire unit makes sense to me.

I will let you know how it goes.

Ours are Stewart Warner electric gauges. They are readily available, you should be able to get gauges and sending units at an auto parts store.
