Walker Bay

Anybody out there tow a Walker Bay for a dink?  We are a dealer and I just took in a used 10 footer in with the tube kit and was thinking of using that for my tow behind.  I prefer a hard boat over an air bag boat but I never towed one (Walker Bay) for any length of time.  Any problems or upgrade suggestions?

Hey if you are still interested. I do have a walker bay as our tender. I would highly recommend the sailing package that you can get with it. So far its been terrific, and a whole lot of fun given that its great to sail back and forth between islands and the boat!

Why not davits? I haven't towed a Walker Bay but even if it tows well it's a nuisance when maneuvering and a real problem if it swamps. I had that happen with a pram once and heaving to and emptying it was not fun.

I would agree.. Having both towed and used a davit, its much better to have the davit. For the walker bay you should get the inflatable kit/tube, especially if you plan to tow it, because it can get swamped by a wave much easier than an only inflatable.

I have an opportunity to acquire a 1958ish One Design Lehman Interclub Sailing Dinghy. Built by Glasspar Boats in Costa Mesa. Glasspar was a pioneer in fiberglass boat building starting in 1948.

Its a 10' dinghy. It has a mast but no rudder or dagger board. That part of the hull has been glassed over. But its very stable with a 5hp outboard motor. I think it weighs 100 lbs.

Anybody know anything about these boats?

I have not heard of them before.. Fabricating a dagger board and rudder wont be all to bad, but the sail might get expensive for the Cat marconi rig.
