Mast head shives

Has anybody replaced the mast head Hayward shives.  Can it be done without pulling the mast?

I have taken the factory sheaves and installed new bronze bushings.  Theoretically you could change them out if you had the spinnaker bail with halyard and block and hung from that.  The job of getting it all back together in the air would be a tough go, and anything you dropped, unless you were on the hard would be gone.
