Installed this cool new Garmin wind system a few months ago.  I love this thing.

Also-  I restitched my bimini and dodger Phifertex.  I love having a Sailrite machine.

Heres the video!

Guys that sew are true Renaissance men. I've been surprised as to how much of my budget has been going toward buying tools I never owned and now need. Naturally I'm doing some upholstering. So I needed a sewing machine. I researched old Singer machines and settled in on finding a Singer 15-91 gear drive sometimes called the pot motor. First offered to farmers wife's in 1930 so you know its rugged. Mine was built in 1954.  I would have also considered a Singer 201. The 201 is a tailors machine that is still going strong down in the garment district of NYC. The 15 has a vertical bobbin that holds a little more thread and it is pinned to the crankshaft so there are no gears to go out of time. It stitches straight through multiple layers of heavy fabric. Has a true reverse  but no zig zag.  This one went for $100 on Ebay. Its heavy at 44lbs. You can buy new aftermarket molded plastic carrying case/base for it which is a testimony to its longevity.

Fist sewing task was to replace the back rests on the port side and in the process reduce them from 4" foam to 1" foam. I added some welting to the seam to dress things up. This simple change adds 3" more butt room to the port bunk. I never liked the look of those overly stuffed cushion backs.

PeteW, I don't see you listed on the list of all known 365/367 owners.  Maybe you want to add your boat?
