Problems with Login

I came back to the site today after being away for a while.  I had several problems trying to register.  No "picture" appeared that I was supposed to read and fill for security purposes.  I figure out that I actually did have a user name but got many confusing messages when I tried to log in.  Later, I noticed I WAS logged in.  I tried to ask Simple Machines for help, and they said to contact the web site owner.  Simple Machines runs the site, don't they?

Would someone mind checking the registration and log in processes?
