Has anyone reinforced the cabin sole at the after end of the cabin?

The cabin sole between the stove and the nav desk sags about 1/2" in the middle (I guess from people flying down the companionway).

anyway, I need to push it up a bit and secure it because the underside is rubbing on the shaft connecting transmission to Vdrive.

Thanks

We haven't reinforced it because ours is fine, but in surfing, I have seen some boats that have had a significant amount of the flange inside the door to the engine compartment behind the ladder cut away to accommodate differant transmissions. What would weaken the floor there. Polaris has the wood floor factory option with the Holly sole and I think that stiffens it up a lot there.

If yours has been cut away, you could think about adding it back in as a option to stiffen it up some.

Mine has the wooden floor also, and appears to be fine. I am a heavy person, and haven't noticed any deflection. I, however, had to cut away a little of the floor beam just forward of the engine, as the shaft touched it. I rebuilt my V-drive, and while installing it noticed the aft port mount wasn't fastened to the hull. The tabbing had not been properly wrapped under the mount, when the vessel was constructed, allowing that corner to drop almost 1/4 of an inch. I started to install it anyway, but I just couldn't leave it, knowing it wasn't right. Well that started the ball rolling. My engine was now to far to port, and low, so I realigned it all, only to have the shaft hit. It was then that I enlarged the cut out made by the manufacturer. I had decided that I could install a piece of angle iron, at the forward edge of the beam, if it appeared weakened. It's not an easy chance to work, but the angle iron may be an option for you.
  Take care, and good luck.

I fixed the sagging sole.
Glassed in 3/4 teak marine plywood (salvaged scrap) to the hull. Made a brace of 1/8" SS flat bar (pieced together to make a U channel)

Used  come-along to lift the sole up tight against the underside of fridge cabinet bottom. Not much force needed.

Bolted the brace to the glassed blocks.

Now it's solid.

Looks really solid and really professionally done.  You could mistake it for stock.
