Hi,
I just wanted to post that I'm excited to be adding a new roller furling unit this week.  My existing unit was a Stearns whose bearings were acting very poorly, and I never trusted the concept of a solid aluminum extrusion.  What really was annoying was that since the furler actually bears the loads of the forestay, the bearings would lock up worse if I had any sails up.  This would usually leave the jib luffing madly as I put the furling line on a winch, even though I tried to shield the jib with the main.  Furthermore, it was not a roller reefing unit and the extrusion would visibly twist when reefing the sail.  I'm looking forward to the reliability and sturdy construction that profurl offers.  I also had to add a forestay which I accomplished with HiMod fittings and 3/8 1x19 wire.  This mod is in addition to a new Raymarine Evolution 100 autopilot as well as 5x Newfound metals SS ports installed last month.  That's like 6 boat bucks, but I will be so enjoying all of this in the fall cruising season.

Mike,

Nice additions... Are you adding a furler to the staysail?  Something you may want to consider..

Like you, I replaced the Beckson plastic ports with the NFM SS - much nicer...

Finally, without a doubt the single best upgrade I have done to Sea Dragon is the addition of the autopilot...

I added the Raymarine S100 remote last winter so that I can control the autopilot from anywhere on board... The remote is very nice when singlehanding. I have a long motor in & out of our marina. The remote allows me move about the boat preparing sails, lines, raise the main, etc. while motoring out. It also it makes dropping the main and tidy up everything easier/possible while returning which allows for me to make the best of the 20 minute trip back. It is nice to not have to run back to the cockpit everytime you want/need to make a course correction.

Hi Mike,
I also am thinking of installing the Raymarine Evolution 100 on my 365 Sloop.  Did you have any problems with the installation?  Coincidentally, I too have installed NFM for all my portlights - fixed and open - and created another one on the aft galley bulkhead to open to the cockpit.  I also moved the engine instrument panel to a more practical location near the helm, instead of on the floor far away from the helm.
