Heat Exchanger: repairable?

I have a quick heat exchanger question.

While tightening the clamp on that holds the cap on my heat exchanger, I managed to deform the shell of the exchanger.  In other words, while trying to stop a small-ish leak, I created a big one.

Does anybody know if this kind of damage is repairable?  Or maybe, after 35 years, I should just be getting a replacement.  If that is the case, any recommended vendors?

If you have broken the case loose from the tube bundle it is probably not repairable. Take it by a radiator shop and let them take a look at it. They can usually tell pretty quick if they can repair one or not.

After 31 years, I would replace it ($355) part number 14129 with removable end caps.

Why not 14129CN copper nickel bundles?  I am just trying to learn.  I think I will be buying one in the next week.

Rephrasing of previous question.  I am looking on the manifoldwarehouse parts page and there are 2 heat exchangers with part number 14129. One specifies copper nickel bundles and costs more.  In case it comes to replacing it I am interested in which one to get, the first one with "unknown" bundles, I'm guessing brass or ss, or the 2nd with copper nickel.  My mechanic has cleaned mine and so far it seems to be doing ok, I am not there, and he and Bob at Sailcraft are going to be test driving her with a new prop pitch of 12" on the MaxProp.  They also scraped and painted the prop, first with barrier coat and then 3 coats of Pettit antifouling if I remember correctly.  This was not done at installation last spring because of some bad advice we got from someone who usually gives real good advice.  Oh well.  There is also some question as to the accuracy of the tach.  We were told we may have to do a "mental adjustment", my words.  Anyhow, as you can see we are trying to get her to get up and go when the wind is down!!
