fuel gauge sender removal

It's time to remove the fuel gauge sender so I can pump out and clean the fuel tank.  Has anyone out there removed their sender?  If so can you provide a head's up on what to expect when I start removing the screws?  Is there something on the inside that might drop off?  Nuts?  Washers?  Backing Plate?  Whatever.

Thanks,

Simply back out the screws and lift out the unit. Pay attention to the unit orientation as the float arm articulates in one direction. IN OTHER WORDS, mark it so you can put it back in the same place. Simple job. No surprises. Tank has a baffle so you can only clean out one side. Good luck.

Thanks Randy,

Always good to know what's waiting to bite me before I get started.  It's raining to beat the band down here today so looks like I get to put it off a bit longer.

I removed my fuel gauge last fall and noticed that the dial had yellowed oil (fuel?) in it, making it hard to read.  I then noted that the dial was easily removed from the top of the unit, apparently operated by an internal magnetic rather than physical connection. The dial is a completely sealed unit, with no apparent way to remove the oil or replace it with clean, clear oil if it is supposed to have oil in it (like a compass). Does anyone know anything about this unit?
