Water Tanks Leaking

Both of my Port & Starboard Tanks leak.  I've isolated the problem to the output fittings.  Has anyone tried to remove and replace one of these fittings?  Was there any trouble doing this without destroying the output hole in the tank for this?  I isolated the problem by sticking a tapered rubber stopper into the fitting hole inside the tanks and the leaks stopped, so I know it's not a tank leak.  But when I remove the hose at the other end and remove the rubber stopper from the inside to the hose-side of the fitting, the leak persists, so I figure it's got to be the fitting, right?  Also, any ideas where to get this type of fitting?  The leaks seem to be maybe a crack along somewhere in the fitting and the water first seems to go into a void between the tank and the fiberglass wall that supports the seats, then when this fills up, it overflows out the access hole for the fitting and into the bilge.  That void could also be a problem if the water can't be removed in the Winter.

If I remember right the fitting is glassed into the tank so you may need to glass around it to repair it. Or cut it out and install a barbed fitting. My tanks had lots of blisters so we replaced them with stainless tanks that were set inside the old ones after we cut the tops off the tanks. That was a mess! Dust everywhere and I went through a lot of saws all and jig saw blades.

I believe I replied to this before, but don't see it, so maybe it is my "Sometimers" disease acting up (soemtimes I remember - sometimes I don;t). Anyway, the fitting is a simple barbed thru-hull. The port one is a lot easier to get to with a tiny wife and the V-drive out (just hold her by her ankles to pull her back out from under the floors)...  ;D  The starboard one is a breeze. In both cases, you simply go in through the tank cleanout to hold the mushroom head, and then back the retaining nut off. I put new ones back on with Boat Life, and haven't leaked a drop (from there) ever since....
