so what is your set up for cruising with the kids. When you are living aboard long term where does everybody sleep? Do the kids have a space of theier own or do they live in the main salon?

The one complaint I have about the Pearson 365 layout is lack of a qtr berth.  Having one would have let Lori and I have the V-berth, my son in the pilot berth or salon area, and then my daughter having the qtr berth.  But like all boats you compromise.  My wife and I will take the V-berth and we are going to hang a patrician from the mast going back to the galley counter to section off the salon.  That way my son gets the pilot berth and daughter get the Port bunk.  It isn't the best configuration, but it is the only thing we can think of at this point.  When we are in warm cruising grounds the cockpit opens up and my son will love to sleep out there, but that's not an everyday set up.  There is not doubt that the Pearson 365 is a great Cursing boat for a couple, but throw in two growing kids and it will be tight.....no illusions on that!  The kids will be 10 and 11 when we leave and 14 and 15 by the time we get back "home", so I have no doubt there will be "days" out there, but again...you make do with what you have.  If anyone has any suggestions...PLEASE PLEASE make them...we are open to any suggestions, everything except not going!

Pearson offered a $1,645.00 (1981) option for a quarter berth in the P365/367. In this configuration, the navstation is turned 90 degree (facing forward) and the quarter berth extends aft.

This is the single best improvement, in my opinion, that could be made to Sea Dragon. We too sail with two kids (9 &10).... Unfortunately this would be an expensive retro fit.

Thanks Garner...man that Qtr Berth would be great on THIRD DAY...but your right, to make that Mod now would be pretty damn expensive!

Unles you have any objections, when I get time, I will put links to all your cool and useful Pearson information in the links forum that will take them directly to the individual links.

I'm over at the boat and time to go PLAY...well actualy, time to finish the fresh water pressure system, take measurements for the new 4/0 battery cable and for the other complete electrical redo I have in the works, then work on sanding the teak toe rail, then....then...then...you understand, but it sure beats a day at the office!
