Opening Port

Have any of you, or does your boat have an installed opening port into the cockpit area from the galley area?  I was sitting on the boat below the other evening and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea.

If so, how do you like it?  Would you do it again?  Is it a problem while sitting in the cockpit area or leaning against the rear cabin bulkhead?  What size do you have installed?  Would you go bigger/smaller?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

We added ours years ago. Very helpful with ventilation as it can stay open in the rain protected by the dodger/bimini. It's not in the way at all in the cockpit. It's a Beckson port about. 13" X 6".
We've replaced all of our ports with opening ports.

Here's a view from the outside. You can see that it's not in the way of the seating.

That port looks great!  I have instruments up where your port is so I would have to drop it down but I do like the entire concept.  No doubt it would help with air flow.
Thanks...

I have the same port in the same location and love it for the same reasons-great airflow and immune to rain due to the dodger. In fact, It is often the only port I leave open when leaving the boat unattended for a few days at a time.

Salty Dog came with the same port. I thougt it was standard equipment, makes so much sense.
