Rub Rail

Hello All,

I purchased a 365 ketch (#189) back in the fall, and I'm planning some repairs and upgrades before I re-launch in the Spring.  One of the things I really like on many of the 365s I've seen are the teak rub rails about 9" below the sheer line.  Unfortunately, my boat doesn't have this feature, so I'm thinking of building a set and adding them.  I'm pretty sure I can get a general idea of the dimensions from photos, but if anyone knows the dimensions, that would be great.  I think it will be more a matter of sizing them to be effective and please my eye rather than trying to copy the exact size of the factory installed rails.  Can anyone that has these rails on their boat tell me how they are attached to the hull?  Are they thru-bolted from the outside, or screwed on from the inside of the hull?  I'm assuming they are thru-bolted, and if so, are there any backing plates or re-enforcements required inside the hull? Thanks.

I don't have dimensions, but can tell you they are bolted with countersunk heads No backing plates, just washers. There is a stainless cap that is mounted with screws into the rub rail.

To access the bolts to fasten the rubrail is very difficult and will require removing some major furniture pieces.
