Fusible links

I have just installed two new Group 31 AGM batteries.One starting and one house for now. A third group 24  for starting will follow when I build a box for it. I have a Balmar 612 regulator that was already there and programming it for AGM. I am adding a Blue Seas ACR. The ACR wiring diagram shows fusible links in the circuit. Should I put fusible links on the positive terminals of each battery or somewhere else?

I just upgraded Sea Dragon's electrical system adding a Blue Seas ACR. The fuse should be between the ACR and the batteries on the positive line.

You will see, about half down the page, the yellow wires (ACR) attached to the positive terminals fused side of the fuse block.

Sounds like ARC is following the ABYC specification which
requires a fuse within 18" of the positive terminal of each
house battery. 

I have a 250 amp link on each house bank. On my start battery
I do not have a fuse link. Instead I have a switch. Reason
is I don't believe there is a fuse smart enough to tell
the difference between normal starter current and a dead
short.

Thanks for the answer and especially the pictures. Actually, I was inspired by your previous setup. I see the cables to the ACR are smaller than the ones to the switch. What size are they? Probably only have to carry the alternator current.

The ACR (yellow) lines are 4 AWG - yes this is based on the short run and alternator output...
