Just thought I would air my insanity here. This is the list of things we're going to do before cruising this season.  Its a good thing that Dana works at West Marine as it woulda killed us to pay retail for all this stuff!  We look to be out someime around December 1st, cruising to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas for 6 months.

To do before we sail...

repair life line cracks
new dingy prop and spare
replace VHF radio with AIS/VHF
replace dead wind instrument
Get canvas resown and new zippers
convert upright propane tank to horizontal
replace galley faucet
replace lav faucet
Install freezer divider (Incommunicado's design)
Replace running rigging
overhaul engine injectors
change engine oil
Repair anchor roller guide
rewire the boat
repair engine instruments
install eng alarm system
repair cockpit table
Replace Deck drain hoses (if anyone has replace the port forward drain hose, I would surely LOVE to learn how you got to the lower end of it behind the ice box!)

Installing a small computer fan in the divider really helps even out the cooling. I was able to connect the fan to the compressor so it ran when it did. No more frozen beer!

Is your insanity trying to get all of the items done, or whether getting them all done is that important?  Go have some fun and enjoy the Bahamas.

BTW, you can just barely access the lower scupper hose through hull fitting if you remove the settee cushion and the wooden slide out.  You will need to have long arms and the ability to work with one hand, but it is possible.  Alternately, remove the settee back and have great, easy access to the area.  You can put some insulation back there while you have the access.

Jim,

Just to be clear, the port forward deck scupper drain hose is not behind the ice box.  The thru hull is forward of the ice box bulkhead and indeed is accessable.

Got it done today and it was a biacth!  I did end up removing the port cabinets even though I was able to disconnect the hose ends with out doing so.  I just couldn't get the old hose to come out o the cabinets without doing so.  All is well that ends well though.  The hose is new and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to have all the hoses in the boat new.

The insanity is tackling all of these things at once.  Its all over due, and it will feel great to have them done, but I am SURE looking froward to being out and cruising again instead of just doing boat chores!
