My original alarms for oil pressure and water temp gave up the ghost (years ago)! Can anyone steer me to a simple easy to instal system? Not looking for anything fancy, just LOUD :) Cheers

Randy,

Have you tried fixing the old alarm?  At least on my boat it makes a noise that can raise the dead and on short outings I tend to leave it off when starting up and then forget about turning it on, which is admittedly stupid.  I seem to recall that the alarm was one of the many things that did not work when I took over nearly two years ago, but it was just a matter of trouble shooting. The alarm is fairly simple system of a couple of sensors, an electrical connection and the simple bell gadget itself.  If I remember correctly the trouble had to do with the bell striker itself and was an easy fix.

On TOOTSIE, my previous boat, I had a buzzer alarm integrated with the cockpit mounted engine panel with the key start, rev counter and oil and temp warning lights.  When the original buzzer went out I got a cheap replacement from Radio Shack.  These contraptions make a very modest noise, however, and would not make you happy.  Try repairing.  Good luck.
