I just installed a replacement Bronze housing thruhull transducer (Airmar), several people have told me it is unnecessary to bond it to the electrical system, and several people have said I should bond it. Airmar's web-site does not address the issue, and the installation instructions don't mention bonding it either. There are no screws or holes, etc. like I have for bonding the bronze seacocks. Who is right? Will bonding the housing to the electrical system have any ill effects? I haven't been able to reach anyone at Airmar for advice. Thanks for advice, hope some one has some experience with this issue. The old one was a marlon or nylon housing.
