OK you say you tightened the tie rod how tight?

All knowing list, I need to understand what the function of the rod is that is just aft of the mast on the Ketch can anyone give me a clear understanding of its function and how it should be adjusted tightened etc?

My issue is that I am getting water tracking down the rod when it rains.

Many of us Know of Ray Deming (Ray & Wanda) Ray is in desperate need of one crew member to help him get his new boat home, she is currently in Mobile AL. Ray is heading to Mobile Tuesday July 12 to bring the boat to Palacios TX, I unfortunatly am unable to help Ray on this trip so one other good sailor would help Ray out greatly he has himself and one other currently but a third hand sure would be nice, So if you can make it Houston TX Ray will pick you up there and drop you off after you all get the boat back.

Please help if you can, this as always could prove to be a great adventure.

Hi Island Jade.

I am here in Clear lake area and would be more than willing to assist you, I have significant rigging experiance indeed I teach High Angle & Confined Space Rescue 200# guy or 200# mast not an issue. I aggree the only way for the cable, is to go through the mast base and into the engine compartment this is going to need a good long drill bitt, the support beam is about 4 or 6 inches.

If your interested in some help my cell # 281-435-6836.
we are racing Sat afternoon in the GBCA Rum Race but other than that I could help.

Just recently had a problem with my Black water system one thing I found was my holding tank vent was plugged!! I used back flowed the vent hose with pressure from the dock by connecting the water hose to the tank end of the vent hose and urge it flushed out some very nasty stuff after it hissed and burgled for a few seconds it was clear it had been plugged.

So morel of the story is check your vents.

My issue was just that nasty black water back up and over pressurization after the tank had over filled, when I opened the deck pump out port nasty black water oozed out like a geyser I also had a hose joint below leak this foul smelling nasty stuff below into the bilge.

Had the vent been clear I would have noticed some stuff spilling onto the stbd deck long before the system had over pressured.

Mine are in the aft locker & I hate it, my rational behind this statement is that I have lost such a huge storage area and have very difficult access to the rudder post, stern fittings etc, my poly box has a nice gasketed lid and six catches, I do not like leaving the cylinder valves open so opening and closing them requires removing all the junk I keep in that locker, removing the lid, opening the valve and the replacing the lid and all the junk. I am seriously thinking of getting a rail mount system of sorts and opening up that valuable aft locker for storage and access to my stuff below.

I would worry about the LPG "Liquid" entering the regulator after all it is liquid petroleum gas, but having said that I have seen many lift trucks using Propane with the cylinder laid on its side not sure if propane is in liquid or gas phase though, I think I would check with an authorized LPG dude before I did this install.

This guy did it maybe he is a member of the list,
