..so whats confusing on these is their rating for only 90kg.. "Bushings DF-2207-2" are rated 450-750lb (204-340kg).. Considering engine weight 227kg + gearbox in case of knockdown, high seas god forbid capsize.. I have doubts they will hold..
I wrote to parts4engines if its typo, their response:
"This is the rating per mount and also shows the deflection at that weight rating. 227kg is the weight of the whole engine and each mount takes up to 90kg. when all mounts fitted this is compatible to take your engine weight.
We have had no issues reported in the many years of selling these mounts."

seems parts4engine did some "extensive research".. the advantages looks legit..

Pearson 365/367 Mechanic Shop / Re: W40 Engine rebuild

Thanks SVJourney! Unfortunately to find some mechanic shop around is near to impossible..
Anyway got few from amazon:
1/2" SAE - I was able to screw just 1.5 threads max.. - FAIL
1/2" NPT - better but still not feeling right
1/2" BSP - looks fine.. so plan is to fit hose on it with 2 clamps level it higher to some valve and connect pump afterwards for future change..

NPT vs BSP explained..

I've the same plug.. I got it out (hard fight blindly by touch..) and drained oil.. but the question is now what to put there..
I'm in marina on the water and there's no way I can get engine out here..
I'd love to replace it with banjo fitting but I'm puzzled what kind of size thread I should be looking for...
---
My measurements:
diamenter: 20.40mm
thread: 14G seems whitworth 55deg..
---
Was considering to put there some SAE fitting but the threads are not quite the same as I was hopping.. any ideas what should be looking for?
I wish I could change it before I will install new gearbox.. after that there's no way I can access the drain plug without removing gearbox.. and even that's is pain in the ass to access it..

@tknott what did u use for yours?

Thanks in advance!

Pearson 365/367 Mechanic Shop / W40 thermostat
May 06, 2023, 07:50:32 PM
So I'm about to clean fresh water circuit system on W40.. regarding this guy.. (I dont have white carpet tho.. nor engine u can eat from..)
and after few days fighting bolts I've figured there's no thermostat...  :o
Regarding condition of bolts I believe t-stat is missing for quite a time (years/decades..)..
Is this common practice to remove t-stat from W40?
How bad it's hurting the engine?
(AFAIK I've W40 - "Perkins block 4.107 but uses fresh water pump 108" regarding exowner notes..)
pics/src attached..
Thanks in advance for any inputs!

Anybody sucessfully installed this bowman exhaust manifold on W40? I'm wondering how it eliminates the engine oil cooler... but "INCOMMUNICADO" probably has different kind.. I wonder which exactly..

Hello,
I'm about to change Paragon SAOD for BW Velvet drive 71C. I've read a lot on this forum but still strugling with some details:
1) what size of oil cooler for BW is sufficient? I'm considering to go for Bowman DC50. What type of cooler are you using guys? Can you post some pictures of your instalation please?
2) I'm not sure what's oil inlet/outlet on my BW as I bought it as you see it on pics.
I'm just guessing it regarding this post as manual shows inlet/outlet in a place I have no holes.. probably old models? .. What's confusing is the holes are different size (bottom one is bigger) and they're "sealed"..
3) Is the inlet/outlet defined by how is pump indexed? (mine should be LH) Any advice how to figure it out?

Thanks for any inputs/advices!
E.

P.S.
For anybody else searching where to plug oil cooler this thread is your answer.
