Here's an artist rendition.  I was thinking using the phenolic as a base plug that the mast fits over

Pete,
Thanks for the reply.
Did you have to lift the entire mast out for this fix or were you able to just loosen or remove stays and lift it up a foot?   Also you mention bolting the two "halves" of he foot together.  I'm trying to picture what your talking about but drawing a blank.
Best,
Caleb

Thanks guys,

Good points made.  I get to the boat in a week and then will be able to look everything over.  If I do end up having to replace the mast base I wonder if using a block of high strength plastic composite like phenolic would work?  My guess is absolutely.  I love using that stuff and black UHMW on boats.

Dale,
As far as ordering from you I will get back to you on that.  I'm bringing a 100' tape measure!

Hello All,

I've recently purchased Hull #25 but haven't gotten to the boat yet. That's next week.  In the meantime the PO tells me the shrouds are rusty and he has loosened them to be safe.  Im thinking I will just replace them.  Anyone know the length and diameter of the shrouds for the 367 Cutter?

Best,
Caleb

Ok thanks for the link and info.  I know a little about engines but this V-drive thing is totally new to me.  I'll check out the link you mentioned.
Cheers!

P69 did you install the RV-26 over the RV-10 because it is a superior model?  Also what is the gear ratio? Is it still 2:1?  Do you have a universal 5444 like me?  I see a RV-26 model on eBay but it lists the gear ratio as 1.46:1.  Also I would like to avoid at all costs having to remove the fridge and drilling a hole for the dipstick.  Here is an eBay listing for the RV-26:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/WALTER-RV-26D-1-46-1-RATIO-BOAT-GEAR-V-DRIVE-with-Cooler-/121914255011?hash=item1c62a7e6a3:g:XuoAAOSwu1VW2dLS&vxp=mtr

Hi All!

Super excited about this site and my new boat: 82' Pearson 367 cutter.  The v-drive I am told is full of water so will be tackling that first and foremost.  Also the 5444 hasn't been run in 7 years the PO tells me.  Anyhow great to find this site and look forward to networking with y'all.

Thanks P69. When you say "PO" I assume you mean 'previous owner'.  From what I've read on here installing anything but the RV-10 becomes a custom job having to install custom built parts?  In any case im not at the boat yet - just bought it.  Im in Oregon and flying out to the boat in FL first week of December.  Be good to get out of the rain for a bit!

Thanks Journey. Yeah haven't heard back from Pete yet.  Will give Warner a call to get a quote.

I read in an earlier post that Warner gives an incentive to buying a new improved version because it's just a tad more than buying all the parts to rebuild an old one.

Hello,
Just got a Pearson 367 cutter and the v-drive is full of water and needs a rebuild or replacement.  I'm leaning towards a replacement if I can find a good deal.
Please pm me if ya have a lead on one.
Best,
Caleb
