Title: More usless information
Post by: Dale Tanski on November 13, 2011, 09:07:55 AM
For those of you that just have to know...

While preparing to put Maruska's main mast in the boat barn this morning, I just decided to measure it.  The length of the extrusion is 47'-1/4".  Now this is my mast, for a ketch, yours could be longer or shorter depending on the corrosion on the bottom and how it was dealt with.  This curious mind just wanted to know and what better conversation starter for this upcoming holiday party season than... you know, my main stick is 47'-1/4".

Maruska,
we've never met so I must be careful in addressing this question,
but, what kind of parties do you fresh water sailors go to where you open
conversations with a discussion of 'your main stick'?
ah

Don't you know that size does not matter!  Though my wife just smiles and shakes her head at that...

Get serious guys - or our site will get a bad reputation.

For a mast boot you probably want the circumference instead of the diameter.  Its 21 and 1/8 inches.

Our mast base is 27 and 3/8. Yours may be different.

Those numbers work for me.  I would highly recommend a company by the name of WATERBOOT.  Their web site is - www.waterboot.com
I have owned their fine product for over the past 6 years on our P365 and I remove my mast every year.  They make a great boot custom made for your boat.  Tell them your make and model and they will have a boot to send you.
