Has anyone out there restored a shipmate 3 burner LPG stove?
I'm still absorbing the cost of a paint job so buying that new Force10 Gascogne 3 burner for $1300 is on hold. So I'm refurbishing the old Shipmate built by Richmond Ring Co.
2 of the three burner are rotted out for starters. I did not feel like paying $65 each for them from the fellow who posts on E-bay. But I managed to cross the front burners over to a Magic Chef/ Maytag manf.# 74004582. You can get these from several on-line appliance part sites for $23 each. They look spot on. I'll let you know when I get them.
I'd also like to replace the valves but this is not as obvious. I believe even though they look alike, they vary in CFM and price. Anywhere from $85 to $13 for valve assy's that all look the same to me. Does anyone have a lead on these?
Also has anyone ever removed the gas manifold out of one of these. There are a several blind bolts. It almost looks like I have to drill out the pop rivets that sercure the front panel to do it right.
