Good Day All
I may possibly be buying hull #120 (P365 ketch) (underagreement but awaiting title transfer/final survey) and am looking to for some assistance. In going around the boat I noticed the port spreader light on the main mast and the mizzen lights do on turn on. Starboard spreader is ok.
I am trying to find what the replacement bulbs might be as part of my work list and can't seem to come across the reference. They look to be stock with the boat and before I head up the mast I would like to have the right replacements. the boat has a few other issues like water in the v-drive, bad sump pump, etc and noraml issues from being on the hard for 6 years so i may be back a few times.
Any help would be great
thanks

I used bulbs I got from NAPA. I think they said the bulbs are a common tractor headlight. Seems like they are 3" diameter.
So- how did the water get in the V-drive? Our previous boat sat in the water without a working bilge pump and dripping packing before we got it. Water level came up and flooded the v-drive. I pulled the top off for an inspection and the v-drive looked fine- no rust. I kept changing the oil and running it, but could not get it cleaned up. I had just about decided the cooler was leaking. I drained it again, pulled the top off and found about 3/8" of clear water sitting in the bottom of it. The drain plug does not drain it all. I vacuumed it out and refilled with fresh oil. It took 3 changes vacuuming it out, but got it cleaned up finally.
I just removed the port spreader light on my 1982 367 cutter. I could not find any identification markings on the bulb, but it measures about 4.25 inches across. It looks like a typical sealed beam and the marina has it. I think it is a GE bulb. My problem is that the gasket is missing where it inserts on the frame. Any ideas where I can get the gasket?
The V-drive got flooded when the autobilge pump ran out of juice and the cockpit drains got plugged up with leaves. It had been sitting on the hard for years and the owner had moved to Germany. That and the sump pump appear to be the only damage as a result.
I put a vaccum pump down the dip stick and pulled a pint of water out. I am heading back down this weekend and will check the drain plug as you suggested. Water was clear and no rust so maybe it will work out.
I changed the oil draining it with the drain plug and ran it 8 times before I pulled the top. When I pulled the top there was still clear water in the bottom. I vacuumed it out and got it cleaned up with 3 more changes, vacuuming it with the top off each time.
