I'm in the process of replacing hose, and have lost my way. Without connecting up the batteries (which aren't on the boat right now), I don't know which way the raw water pump rotates.
This is, of course, critical information for putting the impeller in correctly, but also for routing the new hose.
If anyone has a schematic of the raw and fresh water cooling on a W40, it would be helpful, but I can probably figure it out if I can just determine which side of the raw water pump is the inlet.

That helps with the order of connections in the raw water cooling, thanks. I still need to determine the rotation direction of the raw water pump.
To be clear, when I'm in the locker looking at the "front" of the pump, does the impeller turn clockwise (causing the water to enter from the right and exit to the left) or counter clockwise (causing the sea water to enter from the left and exit to the right)?
Alternatively, should the impeller blades be bent to the left or the right at the top of the pump cavity?
I think the W-40 rotates clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. You could "bump" the starter to verify.
