Title: thru hull fittings
Post by: jim on December 17, 2009, 05:21:22 PM
I hauled our 365 today. Two of the through hull fittings ( head intake and outlet) looked rather pitted, almost corrodided.
We have a galvanic isolator.
Can anyone give me an idea where to start looking into this problem?

I believe all this trough hull fittings are connected to each other with a copper lead to a sinc anode. How are you anodes looking on the propeller shaft and i don't know of there is one mounted on the hull. and are all the connecting wires inplace

with best regards Sikko

Are these thru-hulls bonded?  Check the green wire to make sure it hasn't corroded off.  If all of your underwater metals are bonded together, your shaft zinc should take all of the corrosion.
