The second reference I found was in regards to the resurrection. specficially the number of days between Christ death and resurrection.
Then I hit the gold mine. I found this, which gives a dozen different meanings for Third Day. The Third Day was considered one of the two holy days (Three and Seven), and the following web page gives more than ten or 15 examples, such as how long a person remains unclean after touching a dead body, etc.
