Title: Mounting a Manson Supreme Anchor
Post by: Snboard976 on August 23, 2009, 12:11:26 AM
I had a 35lbs CQR that I recently replaced with a 45lbs Manson Supreme anchor.  The Manson doesn't fit well in the bow roller.  It wants to roll to a side, then jump out of the roller.  Does anyone have a good system fitting a Manson supreme on the bow roller?

We have the Manson 45 and absolutely love the anchor and since we anchor out almost exclusively while out here cruising Mexico...we sleep well at night on the Manson!  You are right about the awkward fit into the roller, no doubt about it.  Here's what we did.  We drilled a hole in the shank of the Manson after we placed it in the anchor "Holder" of the Pearson and when we secure the anchor tie a line through the shank of the anchor through the holes on the roller.  We also tie the anchor down at the point where the shaft meats the chain.

I'll take some photos for you....but right now we are at anchor...and the Manson is nicely dug into the bottom, so you'll have to wait for us to pull anchor.... 8)

Thanks Rich.  I was thinking about drilling that same hole through the anchor.  It is nice not to be the guinea pig. ;)
