Title: REPLACING BOWSPRIT
Post by: gulfreachers2 on May 31, 2009, 01:06:17 PM
I seek your thoghts and/or experience in  replacing the P365 bowsprit so that aanchors can be broken loose from it My current thinking is to cut it off  and addi two 18"  SS bow rollers (West  Marine Cat. Pg. 231).  Will the deck above the anchor locker support the leverage even with backing plates?
I await your input. Thanks.

We have had good success with removing all but 6" of the existing bowsprit and using premade roller assemblies.

I have an all stainless steel bowsprit, but don't have a good picture to post, here's a far shot, I'll take a closer one later this week, and also look in the maintenance log to see when it was installed, where & what manufacturer.

So far haven't looked up the install in the maintenance log, hopefully Wednesday?
