I just discovered why my bilge pump was cycling so often. My Stuffing box is dripping about two drops per second. I've never adjusted this since I bought the boat last November. But I'm having a problem trying to break the big nuts loose to tighten the packing up a bit to stop the leak. I've done this on other boats but they had right-handed props. It occurred to me that since the p365 has a left-handed prop that maybe the threads on these big nuts are left-handed? Has anyone tightened their stuffing box and hoe did you get the nuts loose?

The threads are standard "righty tighty". You just need to get serious wrenches in there to break them apart. I would suggest you really check the stern tube hose for integrity. All the forces inadvertnetly placed on the hose while you are jacking around on the nut can break a weak hose and then you will see a real water leak looks like.
The best thing to use is 2 medium size pipe wrenches. They can either grab on the flats or the peaks. You know that the small nut is a lock nut and should be turned clockwise while at the same time turning the large one counter clockwise. Never try to turn just the large one by it's self, as this will put a strain on the hose and can damage it. Spray it with penetrating oil and use a wire brush to clean the threads before loosning,.
