Hi,
I have two cockpit scuppers at present, not really sufficient drainage when I get pooped. Of course weather cloths will help keep the water out in the first place, but has anyone here added cockpit drains? Reinforcement of the cockpit floor is probably necessary - my thinking is that the new holes will weaken the area supporting the pedestal a bit.
Thoughts anyone?

Aft cockpit corners. Hoses terminate above the waterline, per other installs.
Easy enough for a weekend...
Just make sure you put flaps over them on the backside. I did the same thing on my Ranger 33, which had the same obligatory drains in the front. However, the first time we got slapped in the backside with a wave, I made a discovery. We now had one of theose french toilets they call a bidet. Water came shooting straight up the shorts.....
My suggestion is just a couple of screws holding on a little flap of rubber over each through hull going out the back.
