A dumb question:
On our second sail in Lola, we were cooking along on Galveston Bay and tacked onto a stb. tack and the starboard bunk slid out of it's frame. No damage done, and this is obviously what should happen under normal circumstances at bedtime, but how are these bunks conched down otherwise?

On my boat, you have a combination of sliding bolts at the back edge of each bed board that goes into the bulkheads for and aft of both beds (assuming you have sliders on both port and starboard), and then leeclothes made of sunbrella weight fabric screwed about every six inches through a grommet and an enclosed batten. the midline edges of the leecloth have lines that would then tie up to the internal handrails, and the outboard edges are where the batten pocket is sewed into the lee cloth. The cushions then lie over the lee cloth.
Most of the weigth would b ecarried by the sliding bolts, so you want full size/substantial bolts.

I just saw you are also in our area. Ed came down and visited Sunday. He is the one waiting on the boat coming over from the Keys. I am up in HYC. Now i am pretty sure we could get that start at the NOOD

Blame it on Buffet is a very nice looking boat and Jim has some great ideas and can help immensely, I visited with Jim Sunday and gained a whole bunch of insight into the boat and systems.
Two weeks tomorrow & I will be leaving Key Largo to cross the Gulf of Mexico with four very good friends as crew; we hope to be in Galveston bay on or before Sunday May 26th.
I would love to see the pictures of the leeclothes and or come see them in person. I will need to jury rig something to get us across the gulf but would much prefer something a little more permanent.
