Title: Long Wire SSB Antenna on P365 Ketch
Post by: SV THIRD DAY on January 27, 2008, 09:27:28 PM
My radio installation is simple.  Icom M802/AT-140 tuner with 4ft of 1/2" copper strap from tuner ground to unbounded through hull.....the ultimate Gordon West set-up.  Results: Great signal station reports so I'm done....on to the next thing.

I do have a rather interesting antenna set-up, so here are a few photos:

The long wire antenna is 3/16 SS wire independent of the standing rigging.

5ft SS pole located on port/aft corner of dingy davits.  From here the antenna follows the contour of the davit arm, through the hull and to the AT-140 tunner.  You can see that the antenna is well clear of the mizzen boom and of my kids hands!

View from starboard showing antenna profile.  You can also just see the insulator close to the main mast holding off the antenna.
