Title: Reefer Out - Is there a fuse?
Post by: Captain Coyote on November 29, 2020, 10:21:01 AM
Hello all-

I'm a relatively new 365 owner. I bought SV Odyssey back in July. Last week, the reefer (original equipment) went out. The compressor isn't running or anything, so I'm hoping it's just a fuse. This is the first boat I've had where the reefer is not on the circuit panel. I've looked everywhere I know to and cannot seem to find a fuse anywhere.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Chris

Coyote,
Mine is on its own breaker. I would be surprised if the boats left the factory without a breaker. You sure its original?

If you have a voltmeter, see if you have power at the reefer control panel and at the compressor.  If not, there is a bad connection at either the control panel or the compressor unit.  Since there is (hopefully) a fuse in the line somewhere, trace the wiring from the power source to the reefer. When you get this problem resolved, highly recommend you wire in the reefer feed power to the breaker panel and to it's own breaker.

Most of the 365's I've seen did not come originally with refrigeration.  If you get really stuck, call the reefer manufacturer... they may have some suggestions for further troubleshooting.

Cheers!
