Title: Halyard rigging
Post by: SV Alfresco on June 22, 2018, 09:29:23 AM
On my 367 masthead, there are two separate sets of sheaves, one for the main halyard and one for the jib. On the side of the mast that faces forward, below one of the sheaves is a roller attached to the mast with a bracket and six screws.  As it is rigged now, the jib halyard goes through this. Attached is a picture. I want to know if this is the correct configuration.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
It is rigged correctly.  That device is designed to apply some separation between the jib halyard and the upper furler car so the halyard doesn't get caught and get wrapped around when you furl.

This little block is for the jib halyard hoist to prevent a halyard wrap on the forestay above the the upper part of a roller furling device.  It is a nice touch.
