After 19 years we're forced to sell her- and move to a downeaster (32-34')

Second owner. First owner took all options that Pearson had available. Very well equipped, many sails, Full suit in great condition, + cruising spinnaker and mizzen staysail. many accessories, significant upgrades, great operating condition, Engine rebuilt in 1990's, approx 1500-2000 hours since.. Transmission rebuilt 2008. New Refrigeration approx 2010. New dodger 2015, Maintenance records and full inventory available,  I live on Long Island- boat is on hard.  631 234-4062  becker.joel.e@gmail.com.

I'd appreciate any referrals for selling Counterpoint and/or buying  a powerboat (considering Mainsip Pilot, Albin, or ??

Thanks,

Joel

I've been convinced to keep Counterpoint. Make some changes in equipment and how we use the boat to accommodate our age. No powerboat in near term.  ,

Good news.  Out of curiosity, what changes in equipment did you do to make it easier to sail?

We sail in a windy area (Great south bay of LI), with tight anchorages.  I allow the  proper amount of  scope, at least 5:1 and often more - I have 25' of chain and remainder nylon. Boats nearby allow less and my wife is always afraid of swinging during the night.  I'm going all chain so I can accommodate to my surroundings and my wife can sleep.

At my dock- I always bow in because boat can't handle in reverse with prevailing 15-20 off my stern quarter- my wife has to fend off. I have bent my dolphin strikers often.  I've been using a large round fender off the bow to try to hold of dock. That doesn't always work.  I'm planing on adding a max prop so I can stop better.  A lot cheaper and better than going to power.
