Title: 365 V-Drive
Post by: Mike M on February 05, 2007, 06:04:56 PM
I recently bought a Pearson 365.  It is in fairly good shape, but needs some tlc.  The V-Drive is missing, along with the drive shaft from the engine.  Can anyone give me the make and model number of the V-drive that belongs in the boat and possibly tell me where to get one?  Also, pictures of one installed would be nice as I don't see any mounts either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance...

Title: V drive
Post by: Don Woodruff on February 05, 2007, 06:25:25 PM
Mike,

I have a 1980 Pearson 365 and it takes a RV-10 Walter V drive. I had to replace it this fall and went directly to The Walter Machine Co, Inc. P.O. Box 7700 , Jearsey City, NJ 07307. Telephone 201-656-5654. A new drive cost me $2,121.78. They are very nice people to deal with and can probably let you know what you need by the year manufactured.

The V-Drive is a Walter V-drive. If you contact them with information on your boat and engine combination and they will be able to provide you with the specific model number.

Below is a link to the owner's manual

To Jim S.:

You must be the individual I bought the V-drive from the other day at the flea market.

Yes, it is I who sold the v-drive and propeller to you.  Another friend with a 365 is bemoaning he did not make more effort to get the v-drive.  You can email me direct at jbshell@flash.net.
