Title: Need a Rocker Adjusting Screw
Post by: Firefly on December 17, 2013, 10:35:35 AM
I was wondering if anyone has spare Westerbeke 4-107 parts?

Currently Diana and I are somewhat stranded in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in need of a 'Rocker Adjusting Screw' for 'Ruby' our beloved Westerbeke 4-107. She started running rough after we left Puerto Plata, D.R. 170 miles later after arriving at Cap Cana Marina, I noticed one of the valves was way out of adjustment again (did the same thing once before) and the adjusting screw was severely misshaped. It almost looks like a different screw than the others...anyway:

I have tried Torrenson, they said Westerbeke was out and wouldn't ship to my Florida address anyway...weird?

I have had good luck with a place in Cocoa Village, Florida called 'Noah's Ark' and they are also having difficulty locating them.

I have also sent an email to Bob from Wayne's 'SV Journey' post; still waiting to hear back.

So if anyone has a rocker arm assembly, I would be interested in some individual parts or the whole assembly and pushrods.

My mailing service is with St. Brenden's Isle in Green Cove Springs, Fl and I also have a friend in Titusville, FL who can help ship parts to me.

My contact info is:

Great that you found them there.  Bob only had everything that bolted on to the engine.  The engine itself and the head was scrapped.

Bob sent me an email stating pretty much just that. However, thanks anyway Wayne, it was a good place to start.

For everyone else, the folks at Perkins Power Corp and especially the parts guy Eric, can cross reference almost any Westerbeke 4-107/4-108 part into a Perkins part at usually quite a reduced price.
