Title: No fuel reaching injectors
Post by: ishmael on June 01, 2013, 03:37:18 PM
OK,  I'm stumped.  I have bled the engine all the way to the injectors and get nice clean, no bubbles, fuel.  But,  when I open and injector and bump the starter I only get a fizzle of fuel.  And, of course engine won't start.  Filters are not clogged.

Engine has been running fine but lately has been sometimes cutting off when throttle back hard.  Today it started right up and as I throttled back to idle it died suddenly.  Wouldn't start again.  Bleeding doesn't get it going and poor fuel to injectors.  So, DPT pump, governor?  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ron

Sounds like a sticky metering valve or slow governor. Both are injection pump, You could try some Diesel Kleen, or adjusting the idle higher.

Thanks!  Finally got it.  Adjusted the idle, bleed the engine again and it finally fired.  Readjusted the idle.
