Hello all,
I was wondering if anybody had taken off their upper side shroud chainplates which appear to be screwed into the mast (not thru-bolted). My inner forestay alsu appears to be screwed into the mast.

Mike, the upper is fitted with four screws with nuts on the inside the mast,to get to them you must remove the mast head.Hope this helps Allen
what a relief! I was always doubting the strength of that attachment point, now that I know it is bolted and not screwed, I realize I was worrying for nothing ;D
That answer makes me happy also, although I wonder how they did the same for my inner forestay. It's a good distance down the mast with no obvious and near points to hold a bolt from
This weekend I'm installing a backstay insulator for my HF radio. Fun!
