We recently had our boat repainted and new toe rails installed. Unfortunately the holes for the bolts were glassed over and I have no idea how far back or forward the tracks were originally installed. Does anyone have the correct measurements? Also, were they simply bolted or were backing plates used?

Fernando,we had no backing plates on the jib track but we did have stainless steel washers. As for placement of the track,it is difficult to take a good measurement on a radius.I think the best I can tell you is the aft most hole in the track is center of the aft deck drain. You should be able to locate that hole from inside the starboard locker behind the deck drain hose.you probably have one hole aft of that for car stop.I think it best to try to reuse the old holes.Find the first track hole from inside try to drill center of hole fit track with bolt now you have a pattern for your bolt holes. You will have to bend the track and keep it centred as you work forward. After all holes are drilled remove bolts and track then bed track in silicone put enough bolts back in to hold track in place. Then silicone each bolt in. This is a two person job.
Thanks ,what your saying makes a lot of sense. Looks like my son and I are in for a long hot Saturday. I'm sure he will be "thrilled" at the idea of spending an afternoon with his old man instead of his girlfriend. thanks again.
