Johnny,

A couple of thoughts.

First when you get to the shaft brake question, I strongly recommend you consider "Shaft Lok". These guys (Ken) are great to work with and Ken is entertaining to talk with to boot.. See the link below for more information on our installation. Ken has introduced the next  generation of his tried and true unit that I think will be much smoother locking.

When you say "U" joint, I am assuming you are speaking of the engine-to-V-drive U-joint, contact Walter Gear company (http://www.waltergear.com/), give them your V-drive serial number, and they will have all the information and parts for your drive, shaft, and U-joints. Once great people to work with, a little pricey but still a smart use of time & money.

Good Luck
Garner

Good info on the u joint. I'll get on that one. As far as the shaft break, I have a "Sea Air " "automatic proplock". So old that I cant even find the company when I google them. System is simple and easy to work on. But I need to get some shoes for it. I think that they are go cart brake shoes. If any one has any info on the shoes that work on this system I'm all ears.

Now for my first ? What can anyone tell me about the 4107 injectors?

What do you need to know? How to remove them or how to rebuild them?

As far as removing them, they are held in with a nut on a little clamp. You will probably have to use some penetrating oil to help loosen them up. Some gentle prying and pulling should get them out of the head.

As to rebuilding them, I can't remember if the popoff pressure is adjustable on these injectors or not. If it is, you will need an injector tester to set the popoff pressure and check the spray pattern. There is a needle and seat in there that may or may not need to be lapped. There are several surfaces that may need lapping. This is not really a DIY job. If they need rebuilding, ask around. There should be somebody down there that does fuel injection work and has the tools to do it. Seems like these injectors are relatively inexpensive to rebuild. Another option is to buy a set already rebuilt.

Older thread, but I just replaced my injectors with a rebuilt set for $57 dollars US each after getting back my core charge.  They work well and I had no problems with the company, so I thought I would put them up here as a source.
