Title: water tank
Post by: Bill on April 29, 2012, 09:58:15 PM
I have never had fiberglass water tanks, so my question is.  The water has a fiberglass smell, is that normal, or have my tanks seen better days.

Had a great sail today

the older they get the better thy get,as they loose there fiberglass taste,
i use a aqua-fillter made by jabsco it is a carbon filled cartridge that removes all the smell's-taste of the tank

Many of us have had the water tank blisters.  Some have opened the tanks and painted the inside with epoxy paint.  Others have lined the tanks with rubber bladders.  Most of us still use some type of water filter for the potable water at least.  I use a seagull filter.  You can find a number of discussions on this site about water tank repair and cleaning.
