In terms of water maker and refrigeration sales it was an average Annapolis Show for us, not record setting, but not something I was bemoaning being their for either.   What I see happening in the boat Market I think mirrors the rest of American Society, the upper end boat sales and growth is booming while the middle and lower end is stagnant. This isn't the early 2000's where people are pulling out phantom equity to buy a boat.  But the used Market is a buyers Dream right now.

Whoa....great project.
The ease of cutting the Home Depot FRP panels to fit and then epoxying the corners and seams...it is just hard to beat the simplicity and clean look of this approach.  I'm in the midsts of redoing my freezer box aboard and that is the approach I will take. Cheap....easy....clean....done.

Very carefully.....
The older the unit is then the more brittle the powder coated aluminum evaporation plate will be.
I'm not saying you can't do it...but there is a 50/50 risk of making a stress fracture while doing it.
The do sell flat aluminum evaporation plates that are designed with "bend areas" in them to do exactly what you are looking for and they should be compatible with your current AB compressor.

I will make a suggestion for you since marine refrigeration is what I do for a living....

Use PolyisoCyanurate (Trade name RMax from home dept) as your insulation rather than the blow or pink boards.

It comes in various thicknesses and is foil lined on each side.
Then when you cut the pieces to fit, you put foil tape over the cut edges and any nicks on the foil lining.
This makes a great vapor barrier.

People knock the Polyiso because it is not a closed cell foam but with the foil vapor barrier it don't see moisture anyway.
And just how much water will it absorb?  1MM per year when sitting in water!

But why use it?
Because the main thing you can do to help yourself on an ice box project is MORE R-Value.
The more R-value you have the less your refrigeration system of any brand will have to work and the happier you will be.
The R-value is 1/3 BETTER on the Polyiso than the Blue board...so you can either use 1/3 less polyiso for the same RValue OR what I would like to see since the P365 Box is so HUGE, you can have 1/3 better R-value.  If done right with the foil tape, no air voids for air circulation and a good sealing of the joints of the FRP liner this solution will easily outlast you.

After a quick haul out (6 months...ha ha ha) we are back floating again on our mooring ball in Morro Bay.
It feels good to be home and not have to climb a 10ft ladder to go Peee.....ahhhhh

As many of your know the site was down for way too long and it was only due to the help of Craig Brenizer (Member P69) that the site is back up and running.  He has agreed to also be a volunteer admin to help keep the site from crashing again. I couldn't figure it out...and the internet host wasn't helping.  So Craig did the dirty work of figuring out what was wrong and made the fix.

I personally wouldn't because who wants to run your main diesel proposition engine to make power while at anchor inefficiently, when you can run your diesel generator that is set-up for that type of load running.  Now I would have a larger battery charger than 40A for for less generator run time, but in terms of an alternator.....once you have a generator aboard, that becomes your primary AC charging mechanism and the power you get while motoring is just a bonus.
